Befuddled by taxes. Free help is available

Are you stressing out over doing your income taxes? Most of us put it off until the last possible moment. This year the deadline is Monday, April 18.

Free assistance with your taxes is available at many sites in Volusia and Flagler Counties until the last minute.

But Saturday, Feb. 26, is the deadline for taking advantage of the trained help available at the Center for Business Excellence One-Stop Employment Centers in Daytona Beach and DeLand. Personnel at the Flagler One-Stop will provide tax help until April 12. Call 2-1-1 to make an appointment for the Flagler One-Stop.

Below is a link to other locations where free income tax help is being provided in Volusia and Flagler Counties.

Over the last five years, the Campaign for Working Families has recruited volunteers, worked with the IRS to secure training and certification, identified tax site sponsorship, and reached out into the community to create an awareness of the free income tax preparation available to low income working families.

For those eligible, free income tax assistance by IRS trained and certified volunteers is available at local Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites for people with incomes under $48,362. For complete details and what paperwork to bring, go to www.cfwffla.org or dial 2-1-1.
